Purim Torah

It is a custom that for Purim int he Yeshivas the student s and the Rebbeim would write humourous poems and songs for the Holiday so I wrote one for you all to enjoy!!

'Twas the night before Purim when all through the shtetl
Not a creature was stirring not even Miss Yentl
The Shalach Manos was packed with all the goodies and treats
There was some candy, some wine, and more delicious eats
The poor would be fed they would join in the feast
They would eat as if they were kings for one day at least
The children would come with their Graggers and clappers
While the Meggilah was read there was no place for yappers
A hush came over the Shule on that night
As everyone listened with all of their might
Until Haman's name was uttered then there was noise
The Shule clapped and they honked; all those girls and those boys
The gabbai then shushed for all to be quiet
Until the name was heard again, then there was a riot
All the chilren were dressed for a masquerade party
There was a bear and a princess and the boys named Hardy
After the final Bracha was said there would be a feast for all to enjoy
Layehudim Haysa Orah Vesimcha, there was gladness and joy
The next day followed with more jubilation and gladness
It commemorated the day where it went to Happinness from sadness
Haman had a plot to wipe our nation off the face of the planet
But Mordechai and Esther worked hard and they canned it
Of course it is all with thanks to our G-d above
Whom we fear and we awe but at the same time we love
It was Hashem who all along had a master plan
Our fate lay with G-d , not in the hands of man
So as we dance and sing and celebrate this glorious day
Let's all remember why we're here; let's learn and let's pray
And with G-d's help we'll sing out loud a Niggun or a song
So a Happy Purim to all: whether in New York, Tzfat, or even Hong Kong
